I have worked with the same company for over 6 years now. I began with the company as a Computer Programmer, I then changed to Computer Program Testing and on to Defect Managing. Recently my project changed so that they are offshoring all the work to the Phillipines, so I was told that I'd be getting a different job within the company, though I was unsure of what it might possibly be.
I've been self-training myself to go into Project Management. This is a difficult job with alot of deadlines to keep track of, and alot of coordination with other people and teams. I was initially told that I'd be interviewing for a different position but when they called me, they told me that they wanted me for a Project Management position!
I'll wrap this up - essentially I got the job! This is a big leap for me, I wouldn't have had this opportunity if they hadn't changed our jobs to be offshored. My old bosses are very impressed and excited that I landed this job.
This may take up alot of my time, so I'll check in and try to keep up with the boards as I can. I'll let you know if I regret taking on all this responsibility when I see everyone in October.
